Texas Mobility Outlook corrects errors of fact, figures and attribution, and it shows readers what changed.
How to report an error
Use the contact form and choose “Correction request,” or email editorial@tmohouston.net. Include:
- the page address,
- the figure or sentence in question,
- the source that shows the correct figure, if you have one.
Every request is read and checked against the source document cited on the page.
What counts as a correction
- Correction. A figure, date, name or attribution on the page was wrong. The page is fixed and a dated correction note is added at the foot of the page, saying what was wrong and what it now says.
- Clarification. The facts were right but the wording could mislead. The page is rewritten and a dated note explains the change.
- Data update. An agency released new data or revised its own figures. TxDOT, for one, reissues earlier years’ crash tables as late reports arrive. The page is updated, its data date changes, and no correction note is needed unless Texas Mobility Outlook’s earlier reading of the data was wrong.
Texas Mobility Outlook does not remove a correction note once it is published, and it does not change a page’s meaning without saying so.
Disputes over sources
When a reader disagrees with an official figure itself, Texas Mobility Outlook checks whether another official source gives a different number. If one does, the page shows both, as the editorial policy requires. If not, the page keeps the official figure and may note the dispute.
