Crash DataTexas, Harris County and Houston crash statistics with CSV downloads

Statistics compiled from TxDOT, NHTSA and FMCSA. Every table names its source document and data date, and every dataset downloads as CSV.

The pages in this section turn public crash records into tables you can cite. Most figures come from TxDOT’s annual reports, which are built from Texas Peace Officer’s Crash Reports in the Crash Records Information System.1 Federal figures come from NHTSA’s Fatality Analysis Reporting System and FMCSA’s analysis tools.2,3

Three things to check before citing a number:

  • The data date. TxDOT’s 2025 reports use crash reports processed as of April 7, 2026. Earlier years were reissued with data as of April 9, 2025, and totals can move between editions.4
  • The definition. A TxDOT “commercial motor vehicle” crash, an NHTSA “large truck” crash and an FMCSA “truck and bus” crash are three different counts.
  • The geography. City of Houston figures cover crashes inside city limits on all roads, freeways included. Harris County figures cover the whole county.

The sources and methodology page explains how Texas Mobility Outlook reads and checks each table.
