An independent publication

Texas Mobility Outlook is an independent publication and is not affiliated with The Metropolitan Organization.

It is not a government agency and has no affiliation with TxDOT, NHTSA, FMCSA, the City of Houston, Harris County, Port Houston, H-GAC or any other public body. Agency names and data appear because they are the sources of the figures, not because those agencies endorse the site.

It is not a law firm, does not refer readers to lawyers and is not a transportation, trucking or logistics company.

Information, not advice

Pages explain public data and published rules. They are not legal advice, and reading them creates no attorney-client or other professional relationship. Rules explainers describe what a regulation says and when it took effect; how a rule applies to a particular driver, carrier or crash depends on facts the page cannot know. For advice about your own situation, consult a qualified professional or the agency that administers the rule.

Limits of the data

Crash figures count crashes that police reported and that met TxDOT’s reporting threshold. Agencies revise their figures, so a number can change between editions. Rankings published by law firms, insurers and other companies are reported as what they are, and their appearance on the site is not an endorsement. The sources and methodology page explains the definitions and data dates behind each table.
